Prepare to be swept away to a place and time you can almost visualize with the picturesque words of Violetta Rand. He finds himself Captain of the guard for the laird with a fierce loyalty to each other.Now his focus is on one woman who he wants to make his own. Miran is the lovely, strong and stubborn cousin of the laird and has as known sorrow in her life as he has experienced. It appears she cannot stand him, but turbulent waters often hide the calm beneath and he will try to wear her down!An adventure that kept me engaged until the last page in the wonderful style that is this authors. There is a little of everything included. Miscreants, strong emotions and of course simmering passion that is hard to contain. Do not miss this latest addition to the Highlands Forever series and I can only hope for more!!
Betrayed by his father, Kai embraces his new home and family. Miran has never addressed her feelings for Kai, which leads to her constantly being at odds with him. Ordered, by their Laird, to request support from their neighbors, Miran and Kai must not only spend time together, they must learn to work together. As the days progress and Kai is injured, Miran must address her feelings for him. The blending of two very distinct cultures makes this a very interesting love story.
I've read the whole series, but feel it can be a stand alone because the author sets the story up so you are not lost.I didn't care for the h in the beginning, because of her attitude and smart mouth. As the story progresses, I warmed to her.No clan fighting, a couple villains, romance builds slowly, interesting secondary character's helped the story along.There is one foreplay scene, and didn't last long. Lovemaking, within marriage, rated 3 out of 5 heat level, short and swift.We have no cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA but I did wish for an epilogue. I can't improve on the blurb, so not trying, just what you may discover reading this quick read. (ljb)
Usually when u read a series from an author the first one is the best and then the rest aren't nearly as good. It hasn't been true here. Each book as been as good are even better than the first. Ms. Rand is a wonderful writer.
