Rich Steve guides are the very best for Europe. They have true reviews, telling you if something that is supposed to be great is actually boring, and directing you to the really terrific stuff that is not well known. His museum guides are unequalled. He walks you through each important piece with details and tells you when to skip a room. I looked at some places he said to skip and he was right. You will not find a better guide.

I purchased this book along with Rick Steves Ireland book- thinking that (since we plan to spend a good chunk of time in Dublin) it would be more in detail than his country-wide book. It is not. It is just a reprint of the excerpt of his Ireland book.Considering that it's not really more portable, or more in detail, or much cheaper, I can't figure out what the value is in an identical book. I'm sure many others repeated this mistake so I thought I would mention it here.Overall the book (like his many others) covers walking tours, tourist sites, good eating and accommodations. We appreciate the overview and the star ratings so that we can plan our time well.

This guide book was extremely helpful as I traveled around Dublin on a brief visit. What to see and where to find what seemed most important and interesting is clearly explained. Maps were very clear, too, and, as always, Rick Steves, shows the reader how to save money and still have a wonderful visit. I found the section on the National Library especially worthwhile, as a great William Butler Yeats exhibit has been installed since my last Ireland trip 20 years ago.

You don't need this book AND the Rick Steves book on Ireland: They contain the same information. That said, Rick Steves gives the best tips to enjoy a fabulous, affordable vacation in Ireland.

I've also used his Netherlands, Germany, and France guide. I've learned that whenever Rick says it's boring or not worth your time, he's right. You also don't end up with your nose in the guidebook because he is so concise and the way he lays the areas on your journey out helps you to also feel like you discovered a lot of things on your own. (Later to discover that if you had your nose in the book, he covers those things too!) I'm really glad I got to do some amazing things over my short stay in Dublin and I can't wait to do more exploring the next time I go later this month! ALWAYS Rick Steve's!

This book is a complete copy of a chapter in Rick Steve's big tour guide of Ireland. Don't buy both like I did.

I purchased this book in early 2015 for my trip to Dublin in February and it was my go to guide throughout my stay. This book, accompanied by a simple laminated map of Dublin and the city becomes your oyster. Rick does an outstanding job of highlighting all the must see attractions and isn't shy to tell you when they're tourist traps. He also focuses on the hidden gems and lesser known sites around the city ensuring this book is the ultimate snapshot of Dublin

I will only be in Dublin for a few days which is why I wanted the "snapshot" Dubin version of Rick Steves' Ireland, as I knew I would not have time to explore more than Dublin. I booked my hotel after readying about the different areas/neighborhoods of Dublin, and since it turns out to be a busy weekend, I was able to find a place even though my first few choices were not available. After reading the book, I have created my itinerary for my short visit and feel well prepared to have a great trip.

A couple of years ago, I upgraded a few custom build steps from the old VS format to the new one. This had to be one of the most frustrating experience I've ever went through as a programmer!!Learning how to use the old custom build steps had taken me a single evening, allowing me to create tons of custom properties with everything working flawlessly. The automatic conversion to the new format generated by VS was FAR from being perfect, which forced me to dig into these completely new files and language, which was MSBUILD. With virtually no MSDN documentation on it (even to this day!!), I literally spent months (evening project) trying to get things to work just how I wanted. In the end, I just had to settle for "good enough", as I was losing my sanity.I recently came across this book through some comments on Stackeoverflow. Wow! In a single day, I've learned more on the whole topic than I did in months of frustration using the meaningless one-liners on MSDN.I highly recommend this book. It does a great job a gradually introducing you to the various components of MSBUILD, always demonstrated with easy-to-understand exemples.Avoid the frustration... it's probably the most beneficial programing book one ever purchased.I had originally given this a 5 stars, before I was completely done with it. I had learned so much in do little time, that I was confident about giving it the 5 stars. However, I just reached part 2 of the Visual Studio 2010 section and it is noticeably less well written. Clearly, this was written by somebody else. It also starts off as if we didn't know how properties worked, at that point in the book! The vocabulary is also different, which complicates things. The author of the first half should review and edit these other sections and bring them up to par with the rest of the book.

First off, this is a fantastic book. I used the 1st edition with TFS 2008. This new edition includes great content for the new, completely revamped, build workflow process in TFS 2010.However, as a new Kindle user, when I went to purchase the second edition, I ended up with the wrong one. After returning it via the Amazon Kindle return process (which is pretty painless), I was able to get the correct version. I wish Amazon had a better way of classifying/naming their book versions. They should call the Kindle versions "Version 1" and Version 2" to coincide with the book versions. Instead, there is the regular Kindle version (which is the new one!) and the Kindle "November 11, 2009" edition. Hover your mouse cursor over the Kindle links to see which picture appears. If you want the newer edition, be sure to click on the Kindle link with a "2" appearing in the picture of the cover.As with any IT books for the Kindle, watch for missing content. I've been seeing this problem with a lot of IT books from Amazon. Maybe we need to create a web site called MissingKindleContent.com or a way (unknown to me!) to report Kindle errors to Amazon so they can fix it.So far, no problems with this book. Big thumbs up!

Buy this book if you need to learn the basics and inner workings of:+ How and when projects and imports are parsed and processed+ How and when properties and items are evaluated+ How target and task batching work+ How to chain targets together+ How to create incremental builds+ How to integrate other tools into MSBuild+ How to write your own custom tasks when MSBuild lacks the expressive power.This book leaves nothing unexplained. If you have any MSBuild questions at all, this book will answer them.

This is a great reference to understanding MSbuild and the other Microsoft technology that depends on it. Even if you do not use TFS in your build cycle this is a must have book.

After reading the first couple of chapters of this book, I was astonished that nearly 40 years into the computer revolution such poorly-executed computer books were still being published.This is one of those books that assumes such a high level of existing knowledge on the part of the reader that you wonder why the intended reader would need the book in the first place. It's kind of like those O'Reilly "In A Nutshell" books, which are anything but. If you happen to like those books, maybe this one will work for you.And early on it detours into a pointless explanation of XML. If the reader has the level of MSBuild knowledge the rest of the book assumes, they already know how XML works.I bought this to help with issues creating SQL builds, but the joke was on me. Apparently, SQL doesn't even exist as far as this author is concerned. I can't find a single mention of it.From my perspective, this book is utterly useless.

Curt Dudley-Marling is a professor in the Lynch School of Education at Boston College, where he teaches courses in literacy and language arts. Abigail M. Judge, PhD, is a clinical and child and family forensic psychologist. Dr. Judge maintains a private practice in Cambridge, MA, is a Forensic Consultant at the Law and Psychiatry Service at Massachusetts General Hospital, and holds an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Judge provides psychotherapy, consultation, forensic evaluation, expert witness testimony, and reunification intervention. Robin M. Deutsch, Ph.D., ABPP, is a child and family forensic psychologist, board certified in couples and family practice. She is Director of the Center of Excellence for Children, Families and the Law at William James College in Newton, MA, where she developed the Certificate in Child and Family Forensic Issues and the Child and Family Evaluation Service. She is a founding Board member of Overcoming Barriers, was formerly an Associate Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School, and was Director of Training and Forensic Services at the Children and the Law program at Massachusetts General Hospital for over 20 years. Good review of parental alienation issues, but not user friendly for average therapist. Advocates a particular program that is not readily accessed by most families. Nevertheless, it is a valuable resource for those interested in parental alienation and high conflict divorce.

The one redeeming quality of this book is that it mentions Craig Childress, which I am sure the authors regret in retrospect. Other than that, this book is garbage. Its authors present an apologist declaration in support of alienating parents, in the guise of supporting alienated children. Do yourself a favor. Avoid this book and read the books of Craig Childress instead.

Rather "dry" as this was written for clinicians (much like a textbook). However, as a lay-person needing to understand, it was quite useful.

Excellent program that every family court should have as a tool within their jurisdiction.

very pertinent to my work

Awesome text!

I am a therapist working with children and families in high conflict divorce situations and working to reunify parents and children in these families. I found this book an invaluable resource. Not only does it give critical concrete interventions, it also includes tools for psycho-education (which may not always be intuitive) and points out the ways traditional family therapy may not succeed in mending parent/child relationships. It also highlights how the parent that children continue to see may unintentionally or intentionally contribute to the problem and offers ideas to assist in changing that behavior. A great resource for therapist and attorneys who deal with families in these situations.

I have attended an Overcoming BArriers Program and was not impressed. They did nothing for me and my estranged family other than reinforce their negative views and their expertise was not regarded as helpful in my case. I found the camp ultimately not helpful in the least. I have been asked to write reviews but feel as if they cull out all negative or not positive critiques and wish to only present hopeful scenarios. My concerns about the camp and its direction went unadressed. Little to no outreach post camp experience other than to write a review.

Great information you won't find anywhere else and playfully written.

This book contains a wealth of valuable advice about maximizing your financial aid package, but a lot of it requires some advance planning. So don't read it when your kid is actually applying to colleges (like mine is) or you will kick yourself! But actually, even now I learned some things that could save me thousands. The lame attempts at humor get on my nerves, but if you can get past them it's an easy read.

This book was very helpful and hilarious
