Book has beautiful illustrations, but I was very surprised by one of the pages. See attached pic. I’mnot ready to explain gay marriage to my 6 year old.

I gave this book to my grandchildren because I am a quilter, and love to bestow my quilts on those I love. I understand it's meaning and message, and hate to give it a bad review, but be warned. My grandchildren were in tears after the 2nd Grandma died. Not for sensitive children who love their grandmas.

The original version of this book is wonderful. It was a favorite read aloud story of my elementary students and myself for years. When I ordered copies of the 25th edition for my grandchildren I was not aware that the original was changed. I will not read this version to my grandchildren because of the ending.

my daughter in law who is having a baby is Jewish. i made a quilt for the baby and i tucked this book in with it. it was perfect accompaniment. the story is beautifully told...about family, traditions, and the circle of life. the quilt was made with clothing from the family members "basket of clothes". the quilt is then handed down through the generations...becoming a part of the important celebrations...from wedding canopies, to tablecloths for the sabbath dinner, to wrapping a new baby within it's love. the book was poignant...and i hope my quilt will be passed down through the generations as well as it surrounds her with love throughout the years..

Beautiful story of the love and traditions woven throughout a family's generations. This book is illustrated in a way that invites the reader into their family. What a wonderful book,,,a treasure!

This book inspired me to create a quilt for a friend's daughter whose wedding is in January. I have asked the members of her family and friends to contribute to the quilt and I have a friend who is a quilter. So, yes, I enjoyed this sweet little book.

Patricia Polacco is one of the greatest storytellers of our generation. She has put down snippets of not only her life, but of her ancestors, into delightful stories that transcends all age groups. THE KEEPING QUILT is about Polacco's Great-Grandmother Anna, who immigrated to New York City. The only two things that she still owned from her native Russia were her dress and a babushka. Anna's mother eventually takes parts of her dress and babushka along with old clothes belonging to other relatives and makes a quilt that will remind everyone of their homeland. This quilt serves as a source of comfort and memories for future generations. This is another book that I bought my daughter for her birthday. She will read this book to her second graders perhaps inspiring a new generation to write down the memories of the past.

The book was in good condition. The story is good, too. There four quilters in our family. My mother's quilts had stories in them. So I love the book.

Much of his psychological analysis is couched in Freudian interpretations, like the Oedipus complex. A chapter on "Sexual Deviation" is filled with outdated and offensive depictions of homosexuality. And of course, there has been significant progress in psychology in general and the study of psychopathy in particular since The Mask's publication. Yet as a whole, the book offers a thorough depiction of the psychopathic personality that is likely to stand the test of time. For readers like me looking for a basic introduction to the subject, Cleckley's book serves its purpose as a clarification of psychopathic behavior.

I first became interested in this topic about eleven years ago after seeing an MSNBC investigates special about serial killers. The particular case which captured my attention was the Southern California perpetrator dubbed in the early eighties as 'The Original Night Stalker', whose connection through DNA matching to the 'East Area Rapist', earned him the moniker: EARONS. As EARONS is still at large, and the case so very tantalizing, I began to read any books, articles or papers which might shed light on the mindset of this and other characters of this type. Hervey Cleckley's book goes a long way to illuminating the nature of 'psychopathy' or 'anti social personality disorder(APD)': The term psychopath is used for ease of communicating the many shades and degrees of this complex personality disorder. The graphic novel (comic book) the same as the book of the same name, based on the video game series is something most third to fifth graders would really enjoy. Kids who don’t enjoy reading, There is a lot of reading involved. Story is pretty good if a bit repetitive in places. Comes with an extra comic book introducing Nate and Patrice. Good value.

OK, let's be honest. Plants versus zombies does not float my boat. But my seven-year-old grandson was over the moon about it. I must say I am glad to see The graphics were quite good and the game itself is not focused on killing other people. More imagination and fantasy centered than realistic.

My son is a PVZ nut... he likes these books so when I tell him to get off the XBox, he has something to do. Heaven forbid our children go outside.... *insert eye roll*

My young child loves reading these. I think they are pretty goofy but haven't noticed anything disturbing. Anything kid friendly that inspires my child to read is a winner in my house.

Getting my son to read was like pulling teeth... buying these comic books was the best thing ever- he LOVES them and wants to read all of them.. they make him laugh and he looks forward to more. It helps that he also has the games.

These are for my eight year old son. He loves them and they're on the accelerated reading list so he can count them at school. Gets him to read. Don't you want your kids to read for enjoyment more?

Bought this for my grandson, school messed up his scholar book order, so I ordered it on here. Was actually less expensive, and he loves this book series.

The book "Suicide Forest", deserves to be placed at the top of the best-sellers list for life! I gave this book definitely 5 stars hands down!! The characters are so very well developed and the plot will keep you riveted to your seat, clutching your reading device with white knuckles, it is so full of surprises and non-stop suspenseful action as well as the macabre horror. I will most assuredly declare with honesty the 2 tales told by author Jeremy Bates, delightfully made chills run up my spine! I really feel that this book could be the next big Hollywood Horror blockbuster! Clive Owen & Stephen King watch your backs, Jeremy Bates is coming up to take your places! I can't wait to read more, more more from this author!!The book "The Catacombs" are 5 sweet stars also!! This author weaves magic with his pen! You simply must, must read this author, trust my word that you will not be disappointed at all!! Great Stories that are both fiction and have truths to them.

With few reviews to begin with, I assumed they were from family members or those who owed Jeremy a favor, but still I believed at least one of them might be unbiased.Without a good grip on adventure, or even a slight idea of what creates a true sense of fear, the author dragged me through prose more fitting for a Mother Goose feather frenzy. When a comedian laughs at his own joke, it's a tip-off that less is coming. Jeremy reminded me of a third grader who comes home with a Knock-Knock joke and will not stop repeating it because it is SO funny to him. I find nothing funny about a man named Honda driving a Yamaha, but by the third repetition I could not get rid of the mental picture of Jeremy slapping himself on his knee and laughing at his own wit. I gave up ever expecting more than drivel and tossed the book before I tossed my cookies. HA HA HA HA Oh, that is so funny!

This consisted of two novels, similar story lines, but different stories. You can get this from the description. I usually avoid new eBooks as so many are poorly written, poorly edited, filled with typos, misspelled words, improper use of punctuation, etc. For some reason I took a chance on World's Scariest Places, Volume 1 and I am really glad I did. Jeremy Bates' book is great!Mostly written in the first person from the view of the main character with excursions into brief first person views of the other characters. These two stories are not an Indiana Jones roller-coaster ride, they move smoothly and steadily along creating great suspense and intense atmosphere. Not for someone who wants to dash through in an hour or less. This is the kind of books I love, they last for many hours and never get bogged down.Very creative scenarios, well crafted. Full of terror that slowly builds up to a high level and stays there until the end. The character development is wonderful - unique highly visual characters, you feel like they are right in front of you. The personality clashes, mood swings, and all the interplay between the individuals is true to life. No super heroes, just a group of people thrust into terror and life threatening events fighting to come out alive. There is some romance, conflict, and carefully written sexual scenes, but this is kept to a normal subdued level. The feeling I got reading these stories is very much like those I get reading Stephen King's older novels, like Salem's Lot, The Stand. I don't think I found a single typo or misspelled word. Jeremy Bates is one author I will be keeping my eye on and I am looking forward to more novels of this quality. Hard to put down. Glad I got World's Scariest Places, Volume 1.

I really enjoyed both of these novels in Volume I of The World's Scariest Places. Suicide Forest is about a group of friends/acquaintences who have the misfortune of exploring Suicide Forest rather than climbing Mt. Fuji as they had set out to do. The author did an amazing job of relating the creepiness of the forest so that the reader felt like they were actually there with the explorers. Also there was some real creativity by the author as to what was actually going on with some of the "suicides" in the forest. Same with The Catacombs. At one point I literally had to skim some pages because I felt like I was suffocating in the Catacombs. True Horror There! Read these if you like well-written descriptive horror that doesn't hold back (i.e. not everyone makes it out alive), & suspense that keeps you turning pages well into the night. I would not recommend reading Suicide Forest if you had a loved one that actually committed suicide because there is a lot of discussion about suicide in general as well as an unforeseen twist near the end that is unsettling. I got this as a free download on Amazon but would not hesitate to pay a reasonable amount. I have read some of Jeremy Bates before and like his brand of horror.
